Lara Everly, Director and Actress, That ‘70s Show, Tenacious D and the Pick of Destiny, and Free to Laugh

Caroline wrote an article for LA Weekly about my short film, “Free to Laugh” about the power of comedy post-prison. I had a wonderful experience being interviewed by her, and she told the story of how the documentary came together with the intelligence and grace the sensitive subject matter required. She brings a warmth to her journalism so you feel like you are talking to a friend. I also appreciated Caroline’s attention to detail. She made sure she got all the facts right and truthfully honored the women in the film’s stories. She is a nuanced and smart writer capturing authenticity in journalism and non-fiction.

Eva Lou, founder of award-winning children’s publishing house, Madeleine Editions

Caroline brought creative writing skills, problem-solving ability and an approachable attitude to the role of Communications and Editorial Manager at Madeleine Editions. Soon after she joined the team, she deftly and accurately captured the Madeleine Editions voice and tone in her copy for marketing (social media, digital ads, newsletter), public relations (press releases, article pitches) and both internal and external outreach. She approached every writing task with speed (turning over press releases in a matter of hours), precision and creativity. Moreover, Caroline’s tenacity and out-of-the-box thinking helped land us mentions in notable publications, such as Yahoo! news and HuffPost and increase our overall visibility. Despite the role being fully remote, Caroline showed self-motivation and initiative, and communicated with collaborators across continents and time zones with ease in a friendly and professional manner. Her dedication, creative thinking and experience in the craft of writing make her a suitable candidate for any role that depends upon the written word, and I would recommend her without reservation.

Charlotte Cooper, Senior Director of Audience Growth and Marketing at PRX and former Digital Director at Show of Force

Caroline was a creative and conscientious writer and communicator at Show of Force working on a broad range of our social good projects including Half the Sky, A Path Appears–two multi platform social impact campaigns built around the documentary films of the same name–and Humanity on the Move, the multi-documentary series about the global refugee crisis. She created blog posts and social copy in partnership with other department staff and cultivated partnerships with a variety of organizations to help us expand our reach and impact. Caroline was a wonderful part of the digital and communications team helping us achieve success in every project, large or small, and always seeking inspired ways to build audience and interest in the critical work at the center of our media projects.
